What's happening - World Food Safety Day 2023

The World Health Organisation (WHO) launched World Food Safety Day in 2019, to draw attention and inspire action to help prevent and manage food borne risks and contribute to human health.

Annually all sorts of organisations across the world mark this day - often turned into a week! Every year there is a theme which for this year the WHO have just announced is ‘food standards save lives’.

This week World Food Safety Day falls on 7th June...

Get involved!

Why not do something to mark the day within your organisation this year?

Get your teams involved, promote food safety, demonstrate your organisations commitment to food safety and evolve your organisations foods safety culture…

Here's some ideas you could consider:

· Competition for your teams

· Workshop or refresher session

· Videos

· Quiz

· Posters

· Pop up stand for visitors

How we can help…

I am very excited to be preparing for this year’s World Food Safety day/week, with some activities lined up which healthcare organisations are invited to share with:

Inspectrum Food Safety are devising twist and turn downloads suitable for healthcare organisations to share with their teams front and back of house, that include interesting facts and quiz questions. These are free and coming in May...

I’m enjoying organising a Food Safety Study Day with the Wessex branch of the Hospital Caterers Association (HCA). This will be open not only to HCA members, but also non-members who are involved with catering in healthcare settings. More info to follow soon!

To register your interest in our downloads and/or the Study Day please just drop me a message.

Be inspired!

We hope this blog has inspired you to get involved – if you do organise something for food safety day please let us know and send in your photos – we would love to see what you get up to!
