Course title: Level 4 award in managing food safety for catering Summary: This qualification covers in depth all aspects of food safety relevant for catering. This course provides detailed and comprehensive knowledge for those with responsibility for devising, reviewing and leading their organisations food safety management system, and managing food handling teams. This well respected qualification provides excellent professional development, and is ideal for those who aim to strengthen their competence with food safety. It is also a perfect course in order to training level 2. Suitable for: This course is perfect for those who work in catering in a management role. For example catering managers, executive chefs, head chefs, department heads, competent persons, trainers. Content: The course content spans the requirements of the Highfield qualification specification, including: -Principals of food safety management for catering: - Understanding and compliance with food safety legislation - Operational requirements for food safety - How to establish food safety management procedures - The controls required for food safety - How to maintain food safety management procedures -Food safety and contamination -Microbiology -Food borne illness -Food handlers and personal hygiene -Training and education -Food hazards and controls from purchase to service -Design & construction of food premises and equipment -Cleaning and disinfection -Pest management -Food safety management and HACCP -The role of the manager -Food safety legislation and enforcement Examination: The Level 4 assessment is a 2 part 2.5 hour examination: Part 1: 30 multiple choice questions Part 2: 15 short written questions The learner must achieve a total of at least 50 marks out of 100 across the two parts of the exam. A Merit will be awarded for 60/100 and a Distinction for 70/100 The formal assessment will be carried out online at a date convenient for you. An RFQ accredited level 4 certificate in managing food safety in catering is awarded upon passing the examination. Cost: £545 - includes course, learner registration, text book and remote invigilated examination, certificate.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations To cancel your place, please provide atleast 30 days notice for a full refund, and 2 weeks notice for 50% refund. Cancellations made with less than 2 weeks notice are not eligible for refund. Rescheduling Should you wish to reschedule your booking, please provide as much notice as possible. Reschedule requests made with less than 2 weeks notice may be subject to an administration fee of up to 25% of the course fee. Inspectrum Food Safety reserve the right to reschedule course dates or make cancellations for example due to unforeseen circumstances such as tutor illness or insufficient bookings. In such circumstances as much notice shall be provided as possible and the candidate will be offered a choice to reschedule or receive a refund.
